Born out of the Khmer Empire, which dominated much of the region 1000 years ago, the Kingdom of Cambodia is one of the most exciting of South-East Asian destinations. We also seek out the less well-known routes and paddle through Khmer local villages, fishing communities, silversmith and ceramic pottery villages which are hidden in the heart of Cambodia countryside. This leisurely cycle tour is simply the best way to explore the highlights of a country and explore a French colonial architecture city and learn the story of Felix Louis Bardez. He was beaten to death by the villagers of Kraing Laev on 18th April 1925, where he had been attempting to collect delinquent taxes. Bardez was an experienced administrator, with over ten years of service in the Protectorate. He was forty-two years old. Two Cambodians who had accompanied him to the village, a militiaman and an interpreter, were killed at the same time. Finally, we take a boat trip from Battambang to Siem Reap where you’ll encounter experiences with the floating villages, farmland and learn more about the insight of local culture through the Tonle Sap Lake. A leisurely mountain biking holiday, offering the chance to experience the very best of Cambodia.
